IT's recommendations on conserving energy at our computers

To setup your monitor and hard disks to turn off during periods of inactivity:

Click on Start

Click on Settings

Click on Control Panel

Double-click on Power Options, the following screen should display on your monitor:

From the above screen, for the option Turn off monitor, select 15 mins

For the option Turn off hard disks: select 15 minutes

Click OK

Please note: To resume working on your machine after a period of inactivity, simply move your computer mouse!
